Angel Investing

We provide both start-up capital for new projects and/or businesses as well as capital injections for businesses looking to expand. Unlike banking institutions that invest in already profitable businesses, we invest in entrepreneurs taking their first steps in business or businesses looking to expand. We may take an active role in the management of the new business if required or a passive investment through a loan placement agreement and not be directly involved in the business.

We will review and evaluate your pitch and come back to you via email or phone from there.

How long will it take to review my pitch?

We endeavour to make contact with any pitch within 7 days however the whole process from start to finish can be complex depending on the amount of funding you are after. If interested we may require further information, be it structural, financial, or due diligence. This can take anything up to 3 to 6 months for the whole process to be completed. On the other hand, if it's an investment we are not interested in we will typically let you know with 2 to 4 weeks from lodgement of your pitch.

What will DMG want for its investment?

Typically, we are looking for a return on our investment. Be it as a shareholder in your business, loan agreement with interest, we are prepared to look at various scenarios that will look to an outcome that benefits both parties.

What input will DMG have in running my business?

This can vary from investment to investment. Typically, DMG will ask for regular sit-down time with the business owner to go over where the company/venture is at, regular updates on financial standing of the business as well as advice on strategies to move the business forward.

What amounts do DMG typically invest?

Amounts normally are between $5,000 to $500,000 per investment, however higher amounts have been invested in the past.

We have invested in a broad range of businesses in the past from freight companies to medical endeavours to film productions. We believe we bring a wealth of knowledge to any business. We also believe skill sets can be transferable and can bring a fresh approach to many start-ups and expanding businesses.
